About me

Fanny Reynaud was born in the sunny city of Toulouse, in the south of France. In 2020, she graduated from her bachelor at the film school of ECAL (Haute Ecole Cantonal d'Art de Lausanne), specializing in camera, cinephotography and light, in order to become a Director of Photography. During and following her studies, she worked as a second camera assistant and acquired extensive experience on feature length movies such as 'Thunder' by Carmen Jaquier, 'Cosmos' by Germinal Roaux or 'Beautiful Minds' by Bernard Campan and Alexandre Jollien.

Fanny has transitioned to working exclusively as a Director of Photography. She has been honing her cinematography skills and experience by working as a DOP in different countries (France, Switzerland and Mexico) on a growing number of film projects, ranging from award winning short films, to documentaries, and most recently, on the Amazon TV Series 'Cometierra' (expected to be released on Amazon's streaming platform during the year 2024).

For Fanny, a serious DOP should possess a strong capacity of adaptation, a profound sense of rigor, and a deep understanding of the value of collaboration. And she is steadily developing those qualities on and off shootings. On a more aesthetic note, she feels she has been influenced by figures such as Ingmar Bergman and his DOP Sven Nykvist, by the young Italian director Alice Rohrwacher and her DOP Hélène Louvart, or also by the work of Michael Haneke and his DOP Christian Berger.
